1-hour husky safari in Ranua
Set off on an authentic husky safari through Lapland’s winter landscapes! Arctic Borealis Huskies’ 1-hour husky safari is an excellent choice for both first-timers and more experienced adventurers. This experience offers just the right balance of speed, the tranquillity of nature and close encounters with enthusiastic sled dogs.
The safari begins with a driving briefing
The programme begins with a driving briefing, during which the basics of steering the team and safety instructions are covered. After the briefing, you’ll head over to the huskies, who are eagerly awaiting their turn to hit the trail.
Each sledge carries two adults and any children. One of the adults acts as the driver, whilst the other enjoys the ride as a passenger. During the approximately 40-minute ride, you’ll get to admire Lapland’s natural scenery and watch the dogs at work. Halfway through the safari, there’s a short break, during which the adults can swap places as driver and passenger.
After the safari
After the ride, there’s time to say hello to the huskies, take photos and chat with the guides about the sled dogs’ lives, training and daily routines. For many visitors, this is one of the most memorable moments of the programme.
Suitable for all ages
The leisurely pace and suitable duration of the safari make it an excellent option for guests of all ages. Children travel safely in the same sledge as the adults.
